Cooling is essential for all but the weakest and smallest computers, since processors always make more heat than they can take without some way of draining or nullifying it. It's why companies like NZXT can make a living off products like the X21 water cooler.

Indeed, NZXT is selling a new water cooler. An all-in-one water cooler to be precise, meaning that all the required parts are included in the same whole.

Normally, a water cooling system has a reservoir installed in one or two 5.25-inch bays and some pumps/hoses connecting it to water blocks. Other times, the water tank is on the outside and the pumps go through holes drilled through the rear panel of the case.

All-in-One liquid coolers are interesting in that they do not rely on anything outside themselves to move fluid coolant around and neutralize the heat of whatever CPU or GPU they are applied on.

The water block, pumps, and radiator are shipped already assembled, and they mount more like air coolers than water ones.

NZXT is now selling the Kraken X31. Or perhaps it is more accurate to say that the Overclockers UK website is accepting orders for this particular product.

The cooler has a 120mm radiator and fan, meaning a wide range of flexibility. Which is to say it can fit in many cases, even small form factor ones. Also, it should work with any recent Intel CPUs. In fact, extended tubing and pre-installed Intel mounting are part of the design as a matter of course.

On that note, the NZXT X31 boasts an FX120 V2 120mm PWM fan, with a high static pressure and low noise. It is installed on the radiator instead of the water block, since that is where the coolant is chilled after passing through the water block that sits on the CPU face.

NZXT's X31 is the company's first AiO cooler with a size other than 140mm and is also its first variable speed controlled All-In-One water cooling unit. This means that, while automatic fan speed adjustment is supported, you can also use the NZXT CAM software to control it, depending on how sensitive your ears are to noise.

The software can also control the pump, allowing you to set the RPM (revolutions per minute) to one of several pre-defined parameters. Finally, the price of the NZXT Kraken X31 is £59.99 / $102.68 / €75.41 and the warranty is of 6 years.
