End users are most likely acquainted with the fact that the Santa Clara, California-based GPU maker known as NVIDIA has finally gotten around to releasing its first DirectX 11 graphics adapters. Known as the GeForce GTX 470 and GTX 480, the two cards once again made NVIDIA the owner of the world's fastest graphics solution, albeit not the most cost-effective or power efficient one. Naturally, this prompted PC suppliers to immediately update their product offer to include the new models. Origin PC, for instance, is now offering the GTX 470 and GTX 480 as options on its Genesis gaming system.

Genesis, like all other monstrous configurations aimed at top-tier gamers and enthusiasts, can be configured with the highest-performing motherboards, processors, memory devices, connectivity capabilities and a variety of other options that can increase its appeal.

Origin is now enabling consumers to include up to three identical GTX 470 or GTX 480 models and set them up in a three-way SLI configuration. This will make sure that no game, past, present and future, will ever have any trouble operating, at least until DirectX 12 comes out.

Needless to say, the upgrade comes at a significant price. The most “affordable” Genesis configuration with an NVIDIA DirectX 11 graphics solution is priced at $2,303 and has a single GeForce GTX 470. While steep for most end-users, this can be small compared to the one of the configuration using a three-way LSI setup of water-cooled GTX 480 cards. This option, by itself, raises the price to $4,442.

It is quite obvious that consumers interested in GF100-powered gaming will need a strong heart and very deep pockets, not just when buying the Genesis but also afterwards, considering the significant power consumption of NVIDIA's products. Full information may be found on Origin's official website.
