No information was disclosed because of a confidentiality agreement

Looks like Foxconn and NVIDIA have decided to join hands and work together on something.

According to Digitimes, the two want to set up a joint R&D (research and development) venture for mobile terminal devices and applications based on cloud computing.

Market watchers, or some of them, speculated that the duo aim to also develop smartphone platforms, given how aggressively Foxconn has been investing in mobile communications.

That would make a certain amount of sense, given the Tegra's success and how NVIDIA has yet to get a foothold on the smartphone segment.

Unfortunately, when they signed the agreement, Foxconn chairman Terry Guo and Nvidia CEO Huang Jen-Hsun did not release any information about that, since it was all confidential, apparently.

Some info may turn up at CES or at some other time during 2012, since NVIDIA will have to outline its plans at some point.
