When NVIDIA released its own branded Tegra Note 7 tablet into the wild, the slate ran Android 4.2 out of the box. The device hasn't been out long, and now the chip maker has already started pushing out the Android 4.3 OTA update for the tablet.

Since Android 4.4 KitKat is already available, an update in the software department seems to be more than necessary, at this point. The update brings the usual Android 4.3 enhancements, but it also has some specific improvements just for Tegra Note 7 users.

NVIDIA has already said that it will unleash the OTA update itself, not taking into account that the tablet is being sold by third-party retailers, like XOLO (in India), EVGA, ADVENT, Gigabyte, Shenzhen Homecare Technology and ZOTAC.

The update should arrive automatically on your device, so you should see a notification when it drops. The timeframe might vary depending on country.

So what enhancements should you expect to see with the new update? We’ve already praised the stylus (taking advantage of DirectStylus) and its asymmetrical tip capable of creating different degrees of thickness depending on angle, in our hands-on with a Tegra Note 7 prototype. Well, the update will add improvements to overall stylus response.

For starters, the DirectStylus help option has been now moved in a more intuitive location, the device’s settings’ menu. Moreover, as you update the tablet, you’ll find that the slate now has support for left-handed users.

Moving away from the stylus, the camera receives an important enhancement via the always-on high-dynamic range (AOHDR, utilized in concert with Tegra’s 4 processing power and Chimera computational photography architecture) capability thus allowing the rendering of life-like images in different lighting conditions. The technology allows the snapping of high-, low- and regular explosion pics lag-free.

With the Android 4.3 update, users will also be able to transfer apps and other data from the internal memory to the external microSD card and capture the notification bar will full-screen capture. Last but not least, NVIDIA has added video stabilization to provide a shake-free video experience.
