Rumors about NVIDIA’s next-gen Tegra Note 7 have intensified, as of late but we couldn't get one thing straight.

Will the new Tegra, dubbed on the street Mocha, come with support for the company’s GameStream system, thus transforming it into the NVIDIA Shield tablet?

The answer to this question is yes. A page for the “Shield Tablet” has been set up on the NVIDIA TegraZone website, so now we get the official confirmation the device is indeed in the pipeline, reports the Digital Reader.

Sadly, there are no pictures of the tablet or any other information related to it like features.

Scanning the QR code on the page will immediately take you to the store.nvidia.com/buyshield where you can purchase the NVIDIA Shield handheld gaming device.

It’s a bit puzzling why the Shield Tablet popped in the “Games” section of the TegraZone website. Even so, this is the first real reference of the device and its appearance on the NVIDIA website suggests the rumors about a Shield-branded aren't all smoke.

As for specifications, the upcoming tablet will probably take advantage of NVIDIA’s Tegra K1 architecture and a sharp 7.9-inch display with 2048 x 1546 pixels.

So compared to the original Tegra Note 7, the new device should prove to be a sensible upgrade, and hopefully, it will come boasting the DirectStylus technology customers have grown fond of.
