In the wake of Google’s major announcement, which included the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop form, some device makers have started announcing they will be offering the new update for some of their select products.

It’s the case of the NVIDIA Shield Tablet, which according to an official Tweet will be among the first to receive Lollipop. On top of that, the chip maker also teases some other goodies coming in for the owners of its gaming tablet.

It makes sense that NVIDIA will be among the first to offer the Lollipop update. After all, the company has worked side by side with Google and provided the chip for the Nexus 9 tablet. Not only that, but the same processor platform is to be found in Google’s Project Tango tablet.

So the two tech giants have a strong working relation, which will also translate into the Shield Tablet receiving the new Android update among the first.

Also today, we found out that all existing Nexus tablets and Google Play Edition models will be updated to Lollipop. This includes the Nexus 7 (both 2013 and 2012) models and the Nexus 10.

In the following days we expect more and more manufacturers to make announcement regarding the update to Android 5.0. Keep your eyes opened.
