As some of you (well, especially those of you who've paid a visit to our Gadgets section) probably know already, a Softpedia team has recently had the chance to take NVIDIA's GeForce 3D Vision system for a quick test and we were very impressed by the potential of this amazing technology. However, back then, we noticed some driver-related issues, but it seems that the GPU manufacturer is quite keen on solving them, since it has just released a couple of new drivers for the GeForce 3D Vision, targeting both the current and the next-gen operating systems from Microsoft.

Hence, the company has released the world's first 3D Vision drivers (in beta version) for Windows 7, in two forms, which you can download from Softpedia, namely the standalone Nvidia GeForce 3D Vision Driver 185.85 Beta for Windows 7 and the more complex Nvidia GeForce 3D Vision 185.85 Full Driver CD for Windows 7.

One of the most important changes brought about by the fresh drivers is the support for Mitsubishi's new 2009 Home Theater TVs, which means that, if you happen to own (or want to purchase) one of the following models, you're in luck: WD-57833, WD-60735, WD-60737, WD-60C8, WD-60C9, WD-65735, WD-65736, WD-65737, WD-65C8, WD-65C9, WD-65833, WD-65835, WD-65837, WD-73735, WD-73736, WD-73737, WD-73833, WD-73835, WD-73837, WD-73C8, WD-73C9, WD-82737, WD-82837, L65-A90.

Another interesting change brought about by the new drivers is an extension of the game compatibility list. Hence, following this driver update, you'll be able to enjoy the 3D gaming experience provided by NVIDIA within the following titles: Battlestations: Pacific, Battlestations: Midway, Dark Horizon, Dark Sector, DCS: Black Shark, Death Track Resurrection, Demigod, Elven Legacy, EVE Online, Exodus from the Earth, Igor the Game, Legendary, Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust, The Lord of the Rings: Conquest, Major League Baseball 2K9, Men of War, Monsters vs. Aliens, Perimeter II: New Earth, Rise of the Argonauts, Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, Stormrise, Street Fighter IV, Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, X3: Terran Conflict.

Besides these fresh Windows 7 drivers, NVIDIA has issued an update for the Windows Vista drivers, in an attempt to solve some of the problems we also noticed during our review. Similar to the Windows 7 case, the updated Windows Vista drivers are available in two different versions: the NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision Driver 185.85 for Vista and the NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision 185.85 Full Driver CD for Vista.

We hope that this new update to the Vista drivers will bring about a serious improvement to the 3D gaming experience and solve some of the issues we encountered in our field test, because, as mentioned in our review, the world of possibilities opened up by this technology is absolutely amazing.
