Once again a PC maker has stepped up into the spotlight in order to unleash new mobile personal computers, and this once it is AVADirect that took the word, so as to update its Clevo series with two new laptops that go by the names of B5100M and B7100.

As some end-users may heave endeavored to guess, the two new notebooks are based on the Intel mobile platform.

For the most part, the devices have similar specifications, the only real difference between them being their displays.

The B5100M has a 15.6-inch glossy liquid crystal display (LCD) with a native resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels (HD) or 1,920 x 1,080 (Full HD).

The B7100 is larger, at 17.3 inches, but it only features one screen options, that of an LCD with a resolution of 1,600 x 900 pixels.

All of these possible display solutions have the same aspect ratio of 16:9, and this is just one entry in the sizable list of specifications that the notebooks share.

At the heart of either PC lies an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 central processing unit (CPU), backed up by up to a full 8GB of RAM.

Furthermore, a hard disk drive of up to 500GB should see to whatever storage needs end-users may have.

Those that are more interested in speed than capacity can also go for a solid state drive (SSD) of up to 400GB.

What's more, both machines have their own NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 1GB graphics card, plus the Optimus technology which can dynamically switch between it and the integrated solution.

Finally, a DVD writer or Blu-ray drive is thrown into the mix, as is a 1.3 megapixel webcam, Bluetooth 2.1, LAN and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi.

Priced at $941 and $1,062, respectively, the B5100M and B7100 have already been added to their maker's website.
