It's become somewhat of a habit for the gaming-oriented systems integrators out there to refresh their lineups each time one of the world's two major GPU manufacturers unleashes a new graphics card onto the market, and that's exactly what Digital Storm is doing right now, the company announcing that NVIDIA's new GeForce GTX 580 graphics card will find its way to its Black OPS line of gaming “behemoths”. As you've probably learned by now (after all, we've talked quite a lot on this topic over the past couple of days), the GeForce GTX 580 is NVIDIA’s flagship GPU and touted as the “World’s Fastest DirectX 11 GPU” (at least for the time being), providing an improved overall performance and an innovative vapor chamber thermal design. The GeForce GTX 580 is clocked at 772MHz and features 512 CUDA cores, while packing 1.5GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 4008MHz, which is capable of delivering 192.4 GB/sec worth of bandwidth. And, of course, the new processor supports all the premium GTX gaming technologies, including NVIDIA Surround, 3D Vision, PhysX and SLI (but that's not really a surprise, really). “Games like Call of Duty: Black Ops envelope gamers in graphics that are so detailed and life-like, that it’s a disservice to experience them with anything less that the best GPU on the market,” commented Rajeev Kuruppu, Digital Storm’s Director of Product Development. "The GTX 580’s vapour chamber helps keep the card cooler and also makes it run quieter, helping gamers immerse themselves deeper into their favourite titles.” Digital Storm’s Black|OPS systems with NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 580 can already be ordered as we speak, the estimate pricing for the available configurations starting somewhere in the vicinity of $2,108, which is far from what we're willing to call an affordable price point, all things considered.
