Including Xi LTE models, feature-phones and waterproof devices

Japanese carrier NTT Docomo has just announced its 2011 winter - 2012 spring roadmap, which includes no less than 24 devices.

Beginning November 2011, the carrier will releasing several Android smartphones followed by Xi LTE models.

NTT Docomo will launch a number of 4 smartphones fully compatible with its LTE service, called Xi (read “Crossy”), which is capable of reaching speeds of up to 75 Mbps.

In addition, 9 smartphones will be delivered with the popular mobile-wallet (Osaifu-Keitai), an infrared-based data exchange, as well as one-seg mobile TV and tethering.

Among the 24 devices that will be launched by NTT Docomo in the next few months, 7 are equipped with dual-core CPUs, as well as large HD liquid crystal screens and superior cameras.

According to NTT Docomo, all 24 smartphones will be equipped for Area Mail transmissions of Earthquake Early Warnings from the Japan Meteorological Agency.

Furthermore, the carrier also announced the upcoming availability of two new services for smartphones, “dmenu” and “dmarket.”

Both will be available in mid-November, and will provide a wide range of apps and other content from various providers, along with enhanced DOCOMO’s popular i-mode content.

As the name suggests, the new dmarket content store will offer movies, music, e-books and Android applications.

Obviously, the device launched by the carrier will have access to a wide range of NTT Docomo services, including i-concier for push-based concierge-like personal assistance.

NTT Docomo will also release 8 advanced feature-phones, which will be fully compatible with its i-mode mobile Internet platform.

Moreover, the carrier also stated that all these feature-phones will be compatible with “docomo Palette UI” for easy sorting, searching and managing of stored content.

The carrier organized its lineup into five categories: docomo with series and docomo NEXT series for smartphones, docomo Tablet category for tablets, and docomo STYLE series and Raku-Raku PHONE series for feature-phones.
