Including some pretty amazing phones

NTT DoCoMo's new lineup, the N904i series, includes five handsets, the D904i, F904i, N904i, P904i and SH904i. Each of the phones includes a specific set of features meant to suit the needs of a certain type of user.

All of the five handsets come with GPS and IC cards and thus can be used as train passes or for paying for products, which is something users from Asia are quite accustomed to.

Moreover they come with support for a new service that allows the user to have a second mobile phone number and email address on the same SIM card, dubbed '2in1', as well as Java applications for using the handsets as credit cards.

The F904i comes with a large color screen that, when swung sideways, will switch on One-Seg mobile TV or launch pre-set functions while the N904i will appeal more to users with a need for web browsing, by providing high-speed net access of up to 3.6 Mbps and a 3 inch wide display perfect for viewing web sites and graphics.

More about design than features: the P904i introduces a whole new concept when it comes to looks, allowing the complete transformation of its case and not only its design. Moreover, by simply tilting the handset, intuitive handling will launch pre-installed applications (in some way similar to a Wii controller).

Also very interesting is the SH904i that packs a laptop-like trackpad above the normal keypad which will adjust scroll speed automatically. The 904i series will be available starting Mat across Japan and, as usual, never for sale anywhere else. So while Japanese customers get phones with track pads, One-Seg mobile TV, huge screens and IC cards, people from the rest of the world get to enjoy their Blackberry - with email.
