14 DAY TRIAL // While NVIDIA is yet to announce the next-generation products at its NVISION event, it appears that at least one of the company's channel partners has taken this opportunity to introduce a product of its own. Consequently, today, at NVISION, Zotac, a graphics card manufacturer and an NVIDIA partner, has unleashed NITRO, a device designed for overclocking enthusiasts and hardcore gamers.
The new device has been developed to enable Zotac GeForce graphics cards users to benefit from the capabilities of the world's first hardware overclocking controller. Designed for the company's NVIDIA-based graphics cards, the device allows Zotac GeForce graphics card owners to overclock, simply by pressing three buttons. These provide an excellent tool for users who want to improve the performance levels of their graphics card while they are playing a certain game. Unlike software solutions, this hardware overclocking controller allows users to dynamically boost performance during actual game play.
"Owners of ZOTAC GeForce graphics cards crave all the graphics power available. NITRO allows our customers to extract every ounce of performance from their ZOTAC GeForce graphics card without the hassles of using unsupported third-party software," said Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC International. "Overclocking has never been easier with the intuitive NITRO."
All settings and adjustments are made using NITRO's VFD and built-in buttons, which provide instant access to the graphics card's GPU core, shader and memory clock. Additionally, NITRO also monitors the GPU temperature and even allows users to adjust the GPU's fan speed. Minimum requirements include a free USB port, and Windows XP or Vista operating system. You will also need a Zotac GeForce graphics card, as mentioned above, since the device has been specifically designed for the company's GeForce product lineup.
No word on pricing and availability just yet, but the product should soon make its way to various retailers.
