14 DAY TRIAL // Video game developer EA Sports has managed to use one of its simulations to very accurately predict the result of one major sporting event in 2015, and now the company is saying that the tech powering NHL 15 says that the Anaheim Ducks will be the winners of the Stanley Cup.
They will manage to defeat the New York Rangers, who were the surprise presence of the competition.
The official announcement of the playoff simulation states, "A late third period goal in Game 7 by Ducks winger Corey Perry, gives the city of Anaheim their second Stanley Cup and keeps the trophy in Southern California."
The captain of the Anaheim Ducks, Ryan Getzlaf, is the winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player in the playoffs, as he delivered a solid nine goals and 17 assists in 28 matches.
In order to reach the Stanley Cup finals, the Anaheim Ducks managed to defeat teams like the Winnipeg Jets, the Calgary Flames, and the Minnesota Wild.
The New York Rangers squashed the hopes of all Canadian hockey fans when they defeated the Montreal Canadians.
Earlier in the year, the EA Sports-made Madden NFL 15 managed to accurately predict the winner and the score of the Super Bowl.
It will be interesting to see if the company achieves the same feat with NHL 15 for the Stanley Cup.

NHL 15 is now offered for free to some gamers
Players who own an Xbox One can now subscribe to the EA Access service in order to get free access to the hockey sim as part of the Vault area.
EA Sports has said that it wants as many gamers as possible to try out the game, but unfortunately, the feature is not offered on other platforms.
NHL 15 received a set of both offensive and defensive Teams of the Season during the previous week.
A new title in the series is in development at EA Sports, but the team working on it has not offered any details on the features that are being added.
