Become a superstar right now!

Electronic Arts is back, bigger and better than ever and it plans to prove that by releasing a demo for its upcoming NHL 09 game. PlayStation 3 owners will be happier, since the demo is already released for Sony's console, with an Xbox 360 one being scheduled for early September. But these are just a few details - what matters the most is the gaming experience and you'll have plenty of it!

The demo allows hockey fans to experience once again last season's Stanley Cup Final by playing as the Pittsburgh Penguins or Detroit Red Wings in the new Be A Pro mode from Electronic Arts. The developers promise that this brand new game mode from EA brings a whole new way of playing, by utilizing a new camera that focuses on the player.

Practically, this is a career mode that will put you in the skates of an upcoming superstar that starts in the AHL and works his way up to the NHL, with the ultimate goal of becoming a legend (something like this should be implemented in all sports games!). Also, this comes with a new Performance Tracker that will rate your play in no less than 60 categories, so you will know exactly what you must improve in order to achieve your goals.

"It is an incredible honor to be named to the cover of NHL 09," said Dion Phaneuf, the game's cover athlete. "I've been a really big fan of the franchise for as long as I can remember and am looking forward to being the face of the game this year, particularly because of the significant improvements that have been made to the defensive game and the new checking engine."

So, as you can see, all these improvements promise us a great hockey experience - one you can test right now if you own a PlayStation 3!
