14 DAY TRIAL // Electronic Arts has unleashed Need For Speed: Undercover on iPhone and iPod touch, the latest NFS title that aims to take gamers back to the Cop Takeout days of the franchise, while also introducing new game modes such as the Highway Battle.
Not surprisingly, EA is targeting its most faithful fans with the release of NFS UC, not just on iPhone and iPod touch, but on all supported platforms, by introducing a storyline similar to that of NFS Most Wanted. The iPhone version of NFS UC boasts a total of 30 licensed cars, including the Porsche Cayman S, Lamborghini Gallardo, Ford Mustang and Lotus Elise, according to iTunes. Moreover, players will be able to pimp out and tune up their rides, with options like suspension, tires and Body Paint being available in the title. To round up an already impressive set of features, EA is pushing the limit of iPhone racing with eight race modes, including the Highway Battle, Sprint and Cop Takeout.
Thanks to a post over at NFS-Planet, details about the release of the title are available, along with the main features on iPhone and iPod touch. NFS UC: iPhone/iPod Touch Version available – Wednesday, 06.05.2009 Need for Speed Undercover was released for iPhone and iPod Touch and is available at the iTunes store for $9,99 or EUR 7,99.
The game contains the following features:
– Tilt control steering; – Power Booster; – Cops; – 20 cars (including Porsche Carrera GT and Lamborghini Gallardo); – 8 race modes (including Highway Battle, Sprint and Cop Takeout); – Performance upgrades; – Aftermarket spoilers, wheels, body kits and paint schemes.
As for the iTunes description, players can also listen to their own music while going undercover, or tearin' it up, by activating integration with their iTunes Library.
