NEC Corporation rolled out two new phones, NEC N905i and NEC N905i?, both coming as clamshell handsets that run on the new LiMo open source mobile platform. The two devices are announced in the same period with NEC N705i?, one of the most slimmest clamshell phones ever created.

NEC N905i brings an easy to use interface based on Linux and a wide VGA display (480 x 854 pixels) which, together with the One-Seg compatibility, make the handset perfect for viewing TV programs. Moreover, NEC N905i packs a cool 5.2 Megapixel camera with auto focus, face detection and video recording, HSDPA connectivity for data speed transfers of up to 3.6 Mbps, Bluetooth, Web browser, email capabilities, Media player and high-quality speakers. NEC N905i is available in white, black, pink and red, from NTT DoCoMo, the largest mobile carrier in Japan.

NEC N905i? has a very slim case, being only 12.8 millimeters thick, but it still offers enough cool features. It packs a WVGA display (with the same 480 x 854 pixel resolution), GPS features, Google Maps Mobile, email capabilities, Bluetooth, Video and Music players, i-mode compatibility, a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording in VGA format, and Disney characters icons and themes. Another aspect to be mentioned is that the phone's audio features have a high quality, assured by Yamaha, the famous Japanese musical instruments and electronics manufacturer.

NEC N905i? comes in four color options (Graphite Black, Opal White, Bourgogne Red and Venus Gold) and, as NEC N905i, it is available from NTT DoCoMo.

The retail prices for NEC N905i and NEC N905i? are unknown for the moment. However, one tiny detail that possible buyers should know is that the Japanese carrier changed the phones' names into FOMA N905i and FOMA N905i?, as it always does with 3G devices.
