Coming to reinforce its offer in the United States, NEC has now sent its slim MultiSync EX231W liquid crystal display to US stores, where the device aims to enchant consumers with its energy saving technology and fully adjustable stand.

The MultiSynch EX231W is not exactly a new product, considering that it was launched in Europe about a week ago.

Still, it definitely has a few assets to show off, most of which are related to power efficiency, versatility and ease of use.

As far as basic specifications go, the 23-inch LCD has a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, which means that any Full HD media is supported fully.

The screen also has a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, which corresponds to a DCR (dynamic contrast ratio) of 25,000:1, and a response time of 5 ms.

What's more, NEC threw in a DVI port, a DisplayPort output and an USB connector, even as the thickness of the bezel itself is of just 14.6 mm.

As for the aforementioned assets that the company implemented, they are several, the first of which is the stand.

Said stand allows for height adjustment of up to 110 mm, pivoting, swiveling and tilting, which essentially means that the actual panel can be turned to stand horizontally or vertically.

Another element is the ambient light sensor, which adjusts screen brightness in order to save power.

Nevertheless, the human sensor is the real 'unique' feature. What it does is detect when the user leaves the desk, at which point it powers down the monitor, thus reducing power draw by up to 95%.

End-users stationed anywhere in the US will have to part with $339 should they decide on acquiring this display, although they won't be able to get it immediately.

As reports have it, the newcomer will only begin shipping in November,
