It appears that the consumer-oriented releases at CeBIT, 2011 are not the only things happening on the IT market, as NEC has issued an announcement in which it describes its 30-inch MultiSync PA301W.

Consumer-oriented displays usually stick to several more or less common form factors and 'make do' with the Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) resolution.

When it comes to professional displays, however, like those used by graphics designers for instance, price is less of a nuisance, so companies can focus on size and image quality.

NEC has long been a supplier of such solutions, and it seems its latest one has finally been completed, or at least the newest duo has.

What the outfit prepared is a pair of MultiSync PA301W monitors with a diagonal of 30 inches each.

They bear the names of MultiSync PA301W-BK and PA301W-BK-SV, respectively, and have a native resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels.

The p-IPS panel is of the 10-bit active matrix variety, while the brightness is of 350 cd/m2 and 250cd/m2, in landscape and portrait positions, respectively. Furthermore, the contrast ratio is of 1,000:1 and the Adobe RGB coverage of 98.2 percent.

What the PA301W-BK-SV has over its sibling (PA301W-BK) is the SpectraViewII calibration software and sensor.

“If you’re a photographer, designer, videographer, or a serious gamer, then this is a monitor that you’ll want to take a good look at,” said Bruce Bicknell of Photoshop User Magazine.

“The NEC MultiSync PA301W really is a game changer for those of us who need to have the most accurate representation onscreen of our work that we possibly can.” Click here to read Bicknell’s full MultiSync PA301W product review.

The 30-inch displays have two DisplayPort and two DVI-D connectors each, plus built-in USB, Picture in Picture and Picture by Picture capabilities and various other features.

One should already be able to buy the MultiSync PA301W-BK and PA301W-BK-SV for $2,299 and $2,549, respectively.
