NEC Introduces 24- and 19-Inch Desktop LCD Displays

NEC Display Solutions is one of the world's best-known manufacturers of PC monitors, launching a very large number of products in several ranges over the past couple of years. And in order to complete its MultiSync EA Series, NEC has launched two new models, the 24-inch MultiSync EA241WM widescreen LCD monitor and 19-inch MultiSync EA191M standard-format LCD monitor, which deliver good quality images at some rather reasonable price points.

The wide-format MultiSync EA241WM is a premium enterprise display that features 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness and full 1080p high-definition (1920 x 1200) native resolution. On the other hand, the MultiSync EA191M is a standard-format (5:4 aspect ratio) desktop display with top-of-the-line PVA panel, a 1500:1 contrast ratio, a native resolution of 1280 x 1024 and brightness of 250 cd/m2.

Both displays feature a 4-way adjustable stand (110mm height, tilt, swivel, pivot), as well as a new cabinet design with intuitive, multi-directional NaViKey. The EA241WM also offers users a built-in USB hub (with four ports), while both models come equipped with down-firing speakers with headphone jack.

In order to make transport a lot easier, the MultiSync EA241WM has been equipped with a carrying handle. This model is also HDMI-capable via an adapter (720p and 1080p from DVI-D), while both monitors support the High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) through the DVI-D connector.

It's also quite important to mention that both desktop monitors are ENERGY STAR compliant and feature NEC’s ECO Mode, which allows users to lower power consumption and the amount of waste heat released into the environment. The built-in carbon footprint meter informs and motivates responsible use of the display by calculating and tracking carbon savings.

As mentioned earlier, the MultiSync EA241WM and EA191M displays are rather affordable, since their estimated street prices are $549 and $379, respectively, when they arrive in stores later on this month.
