Sports fans can show their loyalty wherever they go

There aren't too many ways to make flash drives stand out, not really, especially with USB 3.0 being the norm at this point. That has forced makers of such flash storage products to go out of their way to milk the options they do have for all they are worth. The new flash drive series from ADATA is evidence of this. Since changing the color of the cases can only do so much, the company negotiated a branding scheme.

The result was a set of NBA-themed USB flash drives that bear the NBA logo on one side and the logo of one team on the other.

Bizarrely enough, however, this is not a collection that supports the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface standard.

Instead, only USB 2.0 rates are supported, which will be a bit tedious to fill for the 16 GB versions.

The others don't have very large storage spaces though, so the 480 Mbps should be sufficient, even if there is no justification for USB 3.0 not to be supported.

"We have had consistently good feedback from consumers on our previous cooperation with the NBA, so this time we brought more color, higher capacity, and a convenient sliding USB connector," said Tom Lin, managing director of ADATA.

"With the higher resolution media that people are carrying around and sharing, these flash drives will be indispensable to any basketball fans."

All thirty teams will be represented by the newcomers, and the National Basketball Association has made sure to officially license the products. Orders will be carried out in both the United States and Canada.

As for the specs, the drives use cap-less designs with a strap hole at the end, allowing them to hang from lanyards or key chains / key rings.

ADATA's proprietary software, like UFDtoGO and OStoGO, is included in the shipments, along with the latest Norton Internet Security 2013 (60-day trial). More information on the official website.
