Midway has stated that NBA Ballers: Chosen One will debut for the Xbox 360 and for the PlayStation 3 on April 21. Dwight Howard, Orlando Magic main man, will be on the cover, hoping to push Midway's newest title into the top spot.

Chosen One is not your usual basketball oriented game at all. First of all, it does not feature teams from the NBA or college basketball. It does not make you the manager of the team that's also responsible for making the game work on the court. Chosen One is a real single player basketball experience. Most of the games you'll play will be one-on-ones, with a number of two-versus-two encounters thrown in for good measure. The idea is to take your player, play basketball, perform outrageous moves on the court, beat about 80 other players to get to be the Chosen One, the best street player in the world. In this game, there's no team, as it's all about the personal story.

There will be 6 main areas to the game, each divided into further zones. In each area, the player has to play and defeat one of the greats of the game, ranging from Gilbert Arenas and Kobe Bryant to LeBron James. Each of the boss players has special moves that you'll have to work hard to counter and each will make his special entrance on the court, via yacht, jet or limo. Apart from regular basketball games, there will also be other challenges, like filming a commercial with LeBron James.

Customization will take center stage in NBA Ballers: Chosen One. Apart from a variety of appearance-related options, from height and weight to sneaker color, you'll have the option of customizing how you play basketball. As you continue to defeat known players, you'll be able to swap your special moves with their to better your game and surprise other players. The player also gets to customize the way he arrives at the court on which the game takes place. The better a player you are, the more interesting an entrance you'll have available.

NBA Ballers seems like a fresh game, allowing you to play the best of the NBA on the street and making available a large number of moves, combos and dunks. Look for it in stores after April 21.
