1,500 people have attended a march against “extremism,” “classism,” “racism” and injustice in North Carolina, started by the local NAACP chapter.

Posted above is a clip captured on Moral Monday in front of the North Carolina Legislative building.

According to WNCT, demonstrators joined to fight current policies, put together by the Republican party, at the North Carolina General Assembly.

Yesterday's protest in Raleigh is the fifth held by the organization since April, and 150 people have been arrested so far.

"Somebody asked what it was like and I said that it was more uplifting and I was more proud of being arrested than I was when I casted a ballot to vote," one person that got arrested described.

AURN added that the chapter's President, Rev. William Barber, was arrested yesterday, even as the preacher was dubbing the demonstration non-violent.
