The unusual mobile phone that stunned everyone with its mouse pointer similar to that of PCs has been identified as Samsung i780. Now that the identity matter has been solved, the only thing left to do is wait for the release date, although rumors prove to be pretty optimistic.

Some specifications have also been added to the list of known facts, making it clear that this is a pretty powerful device. This Samsung i780 has also been considered to be the BlackJack 2 device, although there are only vague hints towards this.

One sure thing is that the smartphone runs Windows Mobile 6, which makes it one of the most powerful handsets out there. Other specifications are quite impressive as well, including a 2.55 inch screen capable of supporting a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. An even higher one would have been considerably more impressive, especially as it would have made the best of the phone's included pointer.

There is also UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, which should provide some pretty high data transfer speeds. Connectivity also comes under the shape of Bluetooth, USB and Wi-Fi. Just to make the package complete, Samsung i780 also provides GPS technology, one that many handset producers have seen to be extremely useful up to this point.

The 3.2 megapixel camera should manage to bring image captures of some fairly high quality. There is also an additional front VGA camera that enables the user to place video calls. There is no information concerning the phone's internal memory, but it matters less, as there is also a microSD card to compensate.

The producer has made no official announcement on Samsung i780 up to this point. Still, rumors see it released at AT&T before the end of the year. No specification concerning this handset's price have been made, although it should be pretty high, if considering what it has to offer.
