The social networking site MySpace is indirectly involved in a trial against a Wisconsin teenager. Alex Phillips, a user of MySpace, faces jail after he was caught posting indecent photos of his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend on his MySpace page. It appears that this was a vengeful act on behalf of the teenager, prompted by the girl breaking up with him.

The Wisconsin teenager faces serious charges and might actually be sentenced to jail because of his vengeful act. Prior to him being detained by the police, the teenager was informed about the seriousness of his actions but refused to reconsider his position. The pictures, which were published on the teenager's personal MySpace page last week, were offered to him by his girlfriend. It appears that the girl took the pictures herself with the help of her telephone. When posting the photos, Alex also made indecent remarks about his ex-girlfriend by using the photo comments field.

Details about the teenager's criminal actions surfaced on the web after a criminal complaint was filed on May 20 in the Lacrosse Country Circuit Court. After realizing the type of charges he was facing, Alex Phillips eventually reconsidered his position, saying that he "probably should not have done this." Unfortunately for him, his coming to his senses occurred much later than was supposed to, which now leaves him with a serious legal matter on this hands. If he is convicted, he will probably be turned into an example for other MySpace users that might want to take revenge on their exes by posting indecent photos on the social networking website.

MySpace is one of the biggest social networking sites available on the Internet. Its popularity is mainly due to the number of functions it provides its users with. Its services include personal profiles, blogs, groups, photos, music and videos for teenagers and adults all over the world.
