Reaching four the phone when in trouble could prove to be a lot harder than you though

Dialing 911 when you have an emergency seems like a simple enough thing to do, but in case of troubles you often find yourself not having the opportunity to go for the phone, so an avid runner by the name of Rachel Owens came up with an interesting new concept, called the MyRingGuard.

This contraption is basically a ring that goes on your finger and connects wirelessly to your phone (only Android devices are supported at the moment).

In case of trouble, you can press the button on the ring and this will send a distress signal to a list of preset contacts from your smartphone.

This signal is actually a text message with a GPS location, so that the police, or whoever else needs to get to you, can find you without much troubles.

Although the MyRingGuard is certainly an interesting and useful gadget, this is still in its prototype stage and it isn't up for sale yet.

The good news however is that you can pre-order it now for $39 (28.5 EUR) and it will get shipped once the final retail product becomes available.
