Cancer sufferer believes she's keeping it under control this way

Few must be those who have never heard of TLC's latest hit reality show, “My Strange Addiction.” The current season finale promises to top all the other cases shown so far in both yuck factor and severity of the addiction.

Carrie is 53 years old and she's addicted to drinking and bathing in her own urine.

The show, as its name indicates, presents cases of individuals addicted to the strangest things, from eating dirt, plastic or paper napkins, to the strange relationships they form with objects.

Carrie is the case that will be presented in this Sunday's season finale. Check out a preview for the episode below.

What the preview doesn't show is that Carrie has been diagnosed with cancer.

This was 4 years ago and, since then, she hasn't seen another doctor for it, to get treatment or counseling.

That's because she believes in the miraculous healing powers of urine, of which she makes sure she ingests, in one way or another, on a daily basis.

As she explains to her friend in the clip below, she drinks almost all that comes out of her body.

But drinking isn't all that Carrie does with it: she also puts it through her nose (nasal drinking) or through her eye (with a special recipient precisely for this purpose), and bathes in it.

To make this even more stomach-turning – if possible – Carrie saves old urine in jars, and then rubs it all over her body.

She believes that this very uncommon practice, which she's been trying hard to keep a secret from everybody else for the obvious reasons, is keeping her cancer under control.

We'll know more about how that's been working out for her, as well as whether she got treatment for her addiction, on Sunday, when the season finale airs on TLC.
