It seems that OCZ and Corsair aren't the only companies releasing new memory products, as Mushkin has also brought forth some of its own, two kits to be exact, one dual-channel and one triple-channel offering.

Basically, Mushkin has released the two newest additions to its Ridgeback project, which includes memory modules equipped with the Ridgeback heatsinks.

The newcomers boast the Redline-themed heatsinks, to be precise, and come in capacities of 4 GB and 6 GB, respectively.

The 4 GB offering is a dual-channel kit composed of two 2 GB modules and which has an operating frequency of 1,600 MHz, plus timings of 6-8-6-24.

The second one, the 6 GB kit, is composed of three 2 GB modules and has similar specifications.

Both products work on a voltage of 1.65V and are backed by a lifetime warranty.

"The Ridgeback Project has been an exciting project for both myself and our marketing department. Because of Ridgeback's success, we wanted to offer the cooling technology with a sharp new look, and to give customers new aesthetic options,” said Brian Flood, director of product development.

“Case modders and system builders now have a striking new look available to them when using Ridgeback. Redline has always been Mushkin's premier memory line, and we're happy to add Ridgeback to its mix. Our new blood-red Ridgeback heatsinks scream 'performance' and offer it in every respect," he added.

The target consumer base is, as one would expect, that of enthusiasts.

“Because of its aggressive yet sleek design and incredible heat dissipation qualities, enthusiasts the world over have demanded the Ridgeback heatsink for their memory cooling needs,” is what the press release states.

Those interested in buying either of the kits will have to stop by Mushkin's official website and pay $118.99 for the 4GB Redline Ridgeback kit (996970) or $178.49 for the 6GB kit (998970).

Distributors and resellers should also soon begin offering them.
