KVM switches have really proved their worth over time, as they allow users to share certain peripherals (keyboards, mice, monitors, etc.) between two computing systems in a very fast and reliable manner, without carrying out any "extreme" re-wiring operations. And one very interesting device of this type is IOGEAR's latest creation, the Mini View Micro DVI PS2 KVM switch, a device that, beside being able to carry out the aforementioned functions, provides two very interesting control options.

Thus, as mentioned earlier, the main function of the KVM switch from IOGEAR is to allow users to control two DVI computers with the "assistance" of only one DVI monitor, one mouse and one keyboard. Moreover, the device allows users to even interconnect the two systems' speakers, which means that they can, for example, listen to music from one computer while working on the other one.

The Mini View Switch employs two switching methods. The first is a simple remote port selector switch that allows one tap switching that, due to its small size, can be placed in a convenient location on the user's desk. The second method is even easier, as it involves a hotkey, which means that the users won't even have to remove their fingers from the keyboard.

Another interesting fact about the device from IOGEAR is the fact that it comes with asymmetrical cabling, which can prove to be quite an useful aid in clutter control by shortening the connection to the nearest CPU reducing cable pile up behind your computers. Moreover, the MiniView supports 32 bit color at resolutions up to 1600 X 1200 at 60 Hz, it is self powered and its mouse and keyboard emulation ensure uninterrupted operation when switching computers.

The device from IOGEAR will retail for around 160 US dollars, which is not exactly a very small price, but, after all, it's quite worth it, considering the enhanced connectivity options and level of versatility this thing can provide.
