Micro-Star International already has a significant number of notebooks on sale, but like all of its peers and rivals, has a habit of refreshing its collection of machines every so often, and the latest in the multimedia-oriented group goes by the name of FX400.

The new laptop from MSI has, at its heart, an Intel Core i5 mobile central processing unit (CPU) and, of course, the HM55 chipset.

This CPU is backed up by DDR3 memory (two SODIMM slots are present) and paired with the NVIDIA GeForce GT325M discrete graphics card with 1GB of VRAM.

The switch between the integrated graphics and the discrete solution is done automatically, purely based on application load, thanks to the company's proprietary GPU Boost technology,

Also, in order to make the best of its multimedia capabilities, the laptop is built with a 14-inch display whose native resolution is of 1,366 x 768 pixels.

Needless to say, a mobile PC meant for entertainment needs a solid amount of storage space, and MSI was sure to throw in a hard disk drive of 250GB, 320GB or 500GB, depending on user preference.

What's more, the product features a card reader and a DVD writer, as well as the full range of connectivity and I/O options one would expect.

This includes the predictable LAN, Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, two speakers, a HDMI output, D-Sub, three USB 2.0 ports, eSATA and, of course, audio jacks (including mic).

A final asset of the mobile electronic is the Turbo Drive Engine (TDE), a technology which accelerates system performance at the touch of a single key, the Turbo (P1) hotkey to be more precise, which is set above the keyboard itself.

Unfortunately, the PC and hardware maker did not disclose any details regarding the pricing and availability of this newcomer.
