Netbooks have seen a spectacular popularity surge this past year and developers and manufacturers seem to want to keep consumer interest in such products high by outfitting their devices with more and more features, some of which were hard to implement even in desktops not too long ago. The latest ability gained by netbooks seems to be the multi-touch technology and the flagship product for multi-touch-supporting netbooks is the ASUS Eee PC T91MT, a LED-backlit 8.9-inch convertible tablet netbook.

The Eee PC T91MT allows the flowing interaction between participants to a discussion or a project. The screen can be swiveled in order to accommodate multiple viewers and supports the Windows 7 multi-touch gestures, which enable the screen to recognize multiple sources.

Editing photos with FotoFun or taking notes with Notepad are only two of the multitude of actions that the netbook allows for through the application set known as TouchSuite. These touch-optimized applications allow most common actions to be performed with one's fingertips. In addition, the screen can excellently reproduce handwriting thanks to its 256-level pressure sensor. The product may also function as an e-reader when in slate form.

Naturally, the netbook supports all these features thanks to its decent performance capabilities. The device is powered by an Intel Atom Z520 1.33GHz processor, has an SSD storage capacity of 32 GB (supplemented by 500GB of storage through ASUS WebStorage) and 1GB DDR2 SO-DIMM. The product's lifespan and reliability are ensured by the shockproof SSD, which prevents data loss even after accidental shocks or drops.

Full connectivity possibilities are ensured by the Wireless Data Network WLAN 802.11b/g/n 2.42GHz combined with Bluetooth2.1 capabilities and the EDR. I/O options include a Multimedia Camera 0.3M pixels, Hi-Definition audio CODEC, stereo speakers, built Digital Array Mic Interface, a D-sub 15-pin connector for an external monitor and a VGA Connector. In addition, the netbook has two USB 2.0 ports, one LAN RJ-45 port, two audio jacks (Headphone / Mic-in) and an MMC/SD (SDHC) card reader. The product has an MMC/SD (SDHC) disk expander, weighs 0.96kg and may last up to five hours on just the power of the Li-polymer battery.

As expected, the ASUS Eee PC T91MT comes with pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium and sells for roughly $532.
