We don't know whether Scythe will send its latest cooler out of Japan, we can only hope it will. The product definitely seems well positioned to charm at least some customers from the company's home market.

Called Mugen 4, it bears the part number of SCMG-4000 and features TMAPS and HPMS.

TMAPS is short for dimensional multiple airflow pass-through structure and defines a fin stack arrangement that has improved heat dissipation and air flow.

HPMS (hyper-precision mounting system) is a new retention module that supports all modern CPU socket types and is easier to install than other systems.

Even the LGA 1150 socket from Intel (for Haswell chips) is supported. Scythe is really preparing for the future here.

The cooler also has six 6 mm copper heatpipes, a nickel-plated copper base and a Falcon 120 PWM fan (400 – 1400 RPM, 20.7 to 79 CFM air flow).

Overall, the product weighs 625 grams (1.37 pounds) and measures 130 x 88 x 160 mm / 5.11 x 3.46 x 6.29 inches.

April 24 is when sales will start, for 4,980 Yen (US $50 / 38 Euro).
