Its only two paid developers left the company

These are surely some difficult days for the popular email software solution Mozilla Thunderbird. First of all, the parent company announced one month ago that it abandons the development of the application to remain 100 percent focused on Firefox, the browser which is now installed on millions of computers. Moreover, the only two paid developers who worked for Thunderbird announced their departures on Friday as they decided to quit the company. Scott McGregor and David Bienvenu wrote on their blogs that October 12 will be the last day at Mozilla but they will continue to support Thunderbird as volunteers.

"I wanted to let the Thunderbird community know that Friday October 12th will be my last day as an employee of the Mozilla Corporation. I plan to continue on, as a volunteer, with my role as a module owner for the Thunderbird project. I wish the Mozilla Corporation and the new Thunderbird Mail Corporation luck in their future endeavors. I'll be posting here with more information about my future plans when they are ready!" Scott McGregor wrote on his blog.

Thunderbird is one of the top email clients on the market but Mozilla decided it would be more useful to create a separate organization to work on the application as Firefox, their leading software solution needs special care.

"Just wanted to let everyone know that my last day at The Mozilla Corporation will be Oct. 12. I intend to stay involved with Thunderbird and to continue on as a module owner. I've enjoyed working at Mozilla a lot, and I wish Mozilla Co and the new Mail Co all the best," David Bienvenu, the other employee who quits Mozilla, wrote.

Just as usual, you can download the latest version of the email client Mozilla Thunderbird straight from Softpedia using the following link.
