People using their cellphone in theaters are very annoying, but from telling them to behave to shooting them dead, there is a big distance. One of these annoying situations led Curtis Reeves to pull out his gun and shoot a couple during the screening of the “Lone Survivor.”

Two couples watching a movie got into an argument over cellphone use in a North Tampa Theater and ended up in a tragic way. The pairs standing one in front of another started arguing even before the movie began and witnesses from the theater were shocked by what came next.

The suspect and his wife were allegedly bothered by the couple in front of them and their extensive phone use. They tried telling them that their habit was annoying, but they only managed to start a fight.

Curtis went out of the auditorium, presumably to find a manager, but came back in a few moments without a supervisor and visibly upset, Charles Cummings, a witness from the theater said according to The Huffington Post.

Just a few moments later the argument started again, and this time even louder and more aggressive than before. The man accused of excessive use of his phone stood up and confronted Curtis, they started throwing popcorn and then a shot was heard. The victim in the front row was shot and fell onto Mr. Cummings who immediately called 911.

A nurse came and began to perform CPR while a man next to the shooter took his gun out of his hand. The suspect had no attempt of running away, he just stayed there waiting for what was supposed to come next. It seemed that excessive texting was just too much for him to bare and decided to put an end to it once and for all.

“I can't believe people would bring a pistol, a gun, to a movie. I can't believe they would argue and fight and shoot another over popcorn. Over a cellphone,” Mr. Cummings said, notes The Huffington Post. Eyewitnesses were shocked with the happening and the victims were taken to the hospital, where the woman was treated for her non-life-threatening condition and the man died.
