Movea, Inc. announced today that its new Gyration Air Mouse with MotionSense technology is available for retail. The company is a leader in motion-sensing technology for business communications, home entertainment and mobile computing, and the new mouse was designed to fit mobile professionals’ needs; it is able to work both in air or on a flat surface like a desk.

The company's MotionSense technology is able to provide precise in-air motion tracking, which enables users to control the mouse cursor intuitively and with ease when either making a PowerPoint presentation or watching online videos. An accurate response to natural hand movements is guaranteed through precise motion sensors, no matter if the user is in the boardroom, in a small space as a seat, on an airplane or a train or is standing in the living room. Presentations enhanced with GyroTools effects can be commanded through simple flicks of the wrist, and the same applies to multimedia applications on a laptop. With Gyration Air Mouse, users can change the volume or skip a song on iTunes, as well as flip a TV channel on Slingbox.

The new mouse weighs less than four ounces, has a compact design which allows it to easily fit into a bag, briefcase or purse, and can be used with either a desktop PC or a laptop from any place somebody would like to work or enjoy digital entertainment. The Air Mouse can be used both by right-handed and left-handed customers due to its sleek, ergonomic design.

“The market for notebooks is transforming, as more people are buying them equipped with wide screens and media features, and using them not only for traditional business applications but also for entertainment access,” said Greg Smith, Vice President for Marketing at Movea Inc. “The Air-Mouse was designed with such people in mind, providing mobile workers and entertainment buffs the freedom to control their PCs whether they’re at home or on the road.”

The mouse uses a proprietary radio frequency technology which enables air-controls to be effective up to 100 feet and also work through walls or other obstacles. The Air Mouse works perfectly on a desk or other flat surface, due to the included laser sensor for precise desktop tracking. The RF USB dongle is located inside the mouse, which also ships with an elegant travel case. Courtesy of its small size, even the smallest of handbags has enough room for it.

The new Movea device will be available for purchase starting October. The suggested retail price for North America is $99.99. More information on the Air Mouse and on the family of Gyration motion-sensing products can be found here.
