The creator of Mount & Blade franchise, Turkish company TaleWorlds, has just announced the immediate availability of its original Mount & Blade: Warband game on Android platform.

Mount & Blade debuted on PC back in September and slowly became one of the most popular medieval RPG (role-playing game) ever published by Swedish company Paradox Interactive.

In the meantime, TaleWorlds launched more titles in the series, such as Mount & Blade: Warband, which was a sequel of the original game, as well as the spin-off standalone expansion Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword.

Although Paradox Interactive lost the Mount & Blade license in January, developer TaleWorlds still works on bringing new Mount & Blade-related stuff to fans of the RPG genre.

Thus, fans of the franchise will be pleased to know that TaleWorlds have ported the original PC game Mount & Blade: Warband on Google’s mobile platform.

However, according to the developers, the game is only compatible with select Tegra 4 devices, as well as NVIDIA Shield, which will probably narrow down the target of Mount & Blade: Warband for Android to only a small chunk of players.

As mentioned earlier, this is a fully featured port of the PC version of Mount & Blade; Warband and, more importantly, it requires gamepad.

Those unfamiliar with TaleWorld’s masterpiece should know that Mount & Blade: Warband is a medieval single-player action RPG with some fantasy elements.

The game does not offer players a background story, but instead, it features more like a sandbox gameplay style, which means that you will be able to go wherever you wish right from the beginning.

Exploration is at the base of Mount & Blade: Warband, as you will be able to join various battling factions, fight as a mercenary, outlaw, or simply remain neutral and watch as these factions are battling themselves.

According to the developers, the Android game offers the same advanced and intuitive sword-fighting systems as the PC version, hence the need for gamepad.

Still, the most innovative feature introduced by the Mount & Blade franchise is the groundbreaking mounted and foot combat, which allows players to use a wide range of medieval weapons with unique characteristics.

You can now download Mount & Blade: Warband for Android 1.062 for $9.99 / €6.99 via Google Play Store. Keep in mind that the game is only compatible with select Tegra 4 devices powered by Android 4.0.3 and up, as well as NVIDIA Shield.

It is also worth mentioning that developers are running a promotional offer, which means that for a limited time, Android gamers will be able to grab Mount & Blade: Warband for only $6.99 / €4.99.
