Motorola and Brazilian carrier Nextel have just announced the launch of Motorola i786w feature-phone. The clamshell has a unique design that makes it a perfect formula for modern women who want a stylish device for communication.

Although it's just a feature-phone, customers will have to pay R$ 649 (about $410) upfront to purchase the i786w.

To emphasize the target of the phone, Motorola released the clamshell handset in lilac with grey details.

In addition to the phone's feminine side, Motorola i786w offers users Push-to-Talk instant communication, a 2-megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, 180 MB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 8GB).

Motorola i786w shows our commitment to providing the female consumer with a stylish device that offers the convenience of Nextel’s Push-to-Talk service and multimedia features,” says Tiago Galli, products and services director, Nextel.

Slim and stylish, the clamshell comes with a rather small 2-inch internal display, but it also has a secondary 1.6-inch external display.

Other interesting features of the Motorola i786w include an MP3 player, Bluetooth Stereo, microUSB connectivity and built-in GPS.

Motorola i786w completes our portfolio with a perfect option to meet customers’ needs, with a device offering convenience and personality through its design and mulitmedia features,” says Wagner Mendonça, iDEN sales director, Motorola Mobility.

In addition, Nextel offers through Motorola i786w its entire suite of communication services, including Direct Connect, International Direct Connect, Mobile Telephony, Messages and Location Services.

The Direct Connect service provides Nextel customers digital radio enabling unlimited conversation in complete privacy with team members, suppliers and other Nextel users.

International Direct Connect service allows users to immediately connect with any Nextel user located in Brazil, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, El Salvador, Peru and Chile.

Motorola i786w's integrated GPS provides the coordinates of the user’s position and enables location services such as Nextel GPS and iAlarm.

The clamshell is expected to be available this week through authorized Nextel channels.
