Motorola and GOME, one of the largest electronics retail chain in China, announced last week an unprecedented partnership to create a powerful new retail experience for China's consumers.

Under the terms of the partnership, GOME will open Motorola branded shop-in-shops inside 30 of its largest stores across China. The GOME Motorola shops, which will feature bigger retail spaces and distinctive branding, will provide customers with a better retail consumer experience.

GOME and Motorola also announced the launch of "MOTO Month" in all GOME stores, extending from mid-November through mid-December. During this promotional period, special deals will be available on a huge range of Motorola products, including the A780, which has been one of GOME's biggest selling handsets to date. Motorola is currently the best-selling brand at GOME, and with this closer relationship, it is estimated that Motorola handsets sales at GOME will continue to grow in 2006.

In addition, both sides will be cooperating to improve the efficiency of both side's order forecasting, inventory and logistics by means of Full Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR). Motorola and GOME will link together their computer systems, allowing them to better coordinate their various business operations and enabling Motorola's supply chain to respond directly to sales trends at GOME stores and simultaneously making Motorola the first mobile phone company to have integrated its IT system with GOME.
