14 DAY TRIAL // Initially introduced in Taiwan and China, Motorola XT615 has finally made its way to Hong Kong. The smartphone will soon be available for HK$2,698 (350 USD or 270 EUR) off-contract.
Motorola XT615 was specifically designed for the Chinese market, but it can also be purchased outside the country under a different name, Motorola MOTOLUXE. Aimed at fashionistas, the XT615 is available in two color-themes, Licorice and Ultra white.
The smartphone is only 9.8mm thick and weighs around 130g (battery included). Although the phone is tagged as a mid-range smartphone, the XT615 comes with a large 4-inch capacitive touchscreen that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution.
The XT615 is powered by Google’s Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread operating system with Moto Switch 2.0 user interface on top. The latter allows users to switch between work and personal modes while on the go.
Furthermore, the mid-budget smartphone boasts an impressive 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, as well as a secondary VGA front-facing camera for self-portraits and video calls.
On the inside, the phone is equipped with an 800 MHz single core Qualcomm MSM7227A-0 CPU, an Adreno 200 graphics processing unit, 1GB of ROM, 512MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
In the connectivity front, Motorola XT615 is an all-rounder and offers users HSDPA and HSUPA support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well a built-in GPS and high-speed microUSB.
The phone’s 1390 mAh Li-Ion battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 110 hours of standby time or up to 5 hours of talk time.
