Motorola Mobility has just launched the XT531 Android budget smartphone in China, which will be released as Motorola FIRE XT in Europe and Motorola SPICE XT in Latin America.

It looks like the XT531 is the keyboardless version of the Motorola FIRE, which is expected to be released in Europe in Q3.

The sleek and stylish entry-level smartphone comes with a 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen with 262k colors support and dual cameras for vivid video capture.

Motorola XT531 is powered by the latest version of Google's operating system, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and provides users with access to more than 250,000 apps from the Android Market and in some countries even access to SHOP4APPS.

Furthermore, with the Qik Video Connect users will be able to easily create videos and share them with friends in real-time. In addition, the Qik app can also be used along with the front-facing camera for video chatting.

Although the smartphone does not feature a physical keyboard, typing text and email messages is pretty fast and easy with the touch-screen keyboard.

Smartphones have become integral, personal parts of users’ lives – that’s why Motorola believes they should be fun, fashionable and feature-packed. Motorola XT531 is an affordable device that gives young, fast-moving users everything they want from a top-quality smartphone,” said Fei Liu, senior vice president, mass market consumer products, Motorola Mobility.

Equipped with a single core 800MHz processor, the XT531 packs 512 MB on board memory, as well microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

According to the manufacturer, Motorola XT531 has best-in-class battery life, allowing users to talk for up to 8 hours or have 28 days of standby in 3G mode.

The battery can handle regular multitasking between apps, games and Web browsing, as well as heavy messaging.

The Motorola XT531 will be available starting this month in China. The device will be available in Hong Kong, Taiwan and select countries in Europe and Latin America starting this fall for a price that will be disclosed in due time.
