14 DAY TRIAL // Following the recent release of the Motorola XT316 Android-based smartphone in Taiwan and China, Motorola Mobility has just announced the availability of the device in Hong Kong.
The XT316 is now available at leading retail outlets and authorized sellers throughout the country and can be purchased for a suggested retail price of HK$1,688 (about $217).

Thanks to the Android 2.2 (Froyo) operating system, the phone offers users a wide range of personalization options, which are to be expected from Google's versatile mobile platform.
Motorola XT316 features a slim and modern design, as well as an elegant finish. In addition, to the customization options, users will be able to personalize their XT316 device so that they can stay in constant contact with friends and families via social media applications.
“Motorola XT316 combines a stylish design and a great package of social media options for young, tech-savvy users to experience a great smartphone at an affordable price,” said Ritchie Ma, general manager of Motorola Mobility Hong Kong Limited, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Equipped with a low-performance Qualcomm MSM7227-1 processor clocked at 600 MHz, which is complemented by an Adreno 200 GPU, Motorola XT316 can be put in the affordable Android smartphone range when it comes to price.
Furthermore, the phone packs 256 MB of RAM, 512 MB of ROM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
It also sports a 3.2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities (480p@24fps), as well as HSDPA and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity.
“The fusion of the physical QWERTY keyboard, the touchscreen display, and access to more than 200,000 entertaining apps and games available in Android Market creates a whole new level of instant interaction with family and friends,” added Ma.
According to the manufacturer, Motorola XT316 comes with a best-in-class Li-Ion 1420 mAh battery, which can provide up to 648 hours of standby time or up to 8 hours of talk time.
