A new Android-based mobile phone is now available for purchase in the United States on the airwaves of Sprint, namely the Motorola XPRT, a business-grade device that was unveiled to the world only about a month ago.

As of June 5th, the Motorola XPRT is available at Sprint with a price tag of $129.99 attached to it, with the signing of a two-year contract agreement.

The off-contract price tag for this device was set at $399.99. Motorola and Sprint launched the XPRT in a black flavor.

Powered by a 1GHz application processor, the new smartphone can deliver the level of performance that many are looking for, while pairing the touchscreen display of any Android device with a QWERTY keyboard for expanded functionality.

“The Motorola XPRT is a productivity powerhouse. It’s part business, part casual and all smartphone,” the wireless carrier notes on its website.

“With its sleek, compact design and optimized keyboard layout, it’s perfect for tackling your busy day and getting the most out of your time, whether staying productive at work or managing your personal life.”

The specifications list of the new device would also include a 3.1-inch HGVA (320 x 480 pixels display), along with 2 GB of on board memory, and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space.

The Motorola XPRT comes with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with auto focus, Dual LED flash, and video recording capabilities.

It sports 800/1900 CDMA EVDO Rev. A and 850/900/1800/1900MHz GSM connectivity options, as well as 850/1900/2100 WCDMA (category 9/10), HSDPA 10.2mbps, HSUPA 1.8 mbps connectivity, or WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities.

Other specs of this device would include a 3.5mm headphone jack, along with built-in GPS receiver, and a 1860 mAh Li Ion battery. The Motorola XPRT measures 60.9 x 120.4 x 12.95 mm and weighs in at 145 grams.

“The Motorola XPRT is a full-feature, world phone with a QWERTY keyboard, a 1 GHz processor for speed, and web browsing with Adobe Flash 10 support. Access your calendar, email, social networking sites and news right from the main screen,” Sprint notes.

“This global smartphone gives you the power to take your whole life with you wherever you go and the peace of mind to do so with optimal enterprise security built right in. It’s the first Android powered device from Sprint featuring 256-AES encryption for both the device and the memory card.”
