In a bid to continue the vindication of the XOOM, Motorola has announced that the tablet is available for sale in Jordan, situation made possible with the help of Haidar Murad Group (HMG) and Zain stores.

Motorola's XOOM tablet may not have started off on the right foot, but its subsequent price cuts and updates do seem to have remedied at least part of the initial underwhelming reputation.

The product has also expanded the number of regions where one may find it up for order, whether online or in stores.

One of the countries to most recently get it is Jordan, where both Zain stores and the Haidar Murad Group (HMG) have pooled their resources with Motorola's own.

“Zain has always been at the forefront of adopting new technologies and providing state of the art products and services to our customers in Jordan,” said Zain Jordan CEO Mr. Ahmad Al Hanandeh.

“Motorola XOOM is an innovative device which our tech savvy customers will be very happy to have, and we are pleased to be the first to provide the 3G/Wi-Fi version in Jordan.”

As a refresh to the memory of prospective buyers, the XOOM has a dual-core processor (1 GHz) and 1 GB of RAM, plus two webcams (one on the front and one at the back), WiFi, Ethernet, 3G, a 10.1-inch widescreen and the Android 3.1 OS, among other things.

The device is already up for order, priced at JD685, and is offered with special data packages.

“We’re excited to be bringing customers in Jordan a device as powerful as Motorola XOOM,” said Raed Hafez, general manager for Motorola Mobility, Middle East & Africa.

“Whether surfing the Web with multi-tab browsing, watching the latest hit movie or video-chatting with friends, Motorola XOOM will delight consumers with its ease of use, speed and vivid graphics, as well as its Motorola Smart Accessories.”
