Motorola continues to spread its Honeycomb tablets worldwide. Starting today Android enthusiasts living in Brazil will be able to purchase Motorola’s XOOM 2 slate.

The company has just announced the 3G version of XOOM 2 will hit shelves on March 16. Customers can purchase it via major retailers across the country for a suggested retail price that has yet to be announced.

Motorola XOOM 2 does not feature Google’s latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Instead it will be shipped with Android 3.2 Honeycomb platform.

However, those who think that this is an important downside should know that Motorola already confirmed it would deploy an Ice Cream Sandwich update for XOOM 2 by the end of the year.

This is Motorola’s most powerful tablet as XOOM 2 is equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and packs 16GB (32GB) of internal memory, 1GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The tablet boasts a stunning 10.1-inch HD-IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (800 x 1280 pixels) resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

It comes with dual cameras, 5-megapixel rear photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording, as well as 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

It is also worth mentioning that the slate is splash resistant and comes with HDMI port, 3G and Wi-Fi support, along with Bluetooth and 3D virtual surround sound for a better multimedia experience.

Tablets are quickly becoming a must-have tool for staying connected, getting work done and having fun at home and on the road. We are very excited about the new addition to our tablet portfolio, Motorola XOOM 2, that builds on the success of the original Motorola XOOM to now deliver more powerful tablet experiences to the Brazilian market,” said Edson Bortolli, mobile products director, Motorola Mobility Brazil.
