Motorola Triumph, the first smartphone from the mobile phone maker to arrive on shelves at wireless carrier Virgin Mobile, is already available for pre-order via Best Buy.

The Android-based handset is listed at the retailer with a price tag of $299.99 attached to it, contract free, just as the wireless carrier would have it as well.

However, no specific info on when the new device might become available for purchase has emerged so far, and all that Best Buy has to say on the matter is that it is coming soon.

The handset was unveiled only several weeks ago with the Froyo OS flavor on it, and with a large 4.1" touch-screen color display for providing users with a great experience.

“This mobile phone features 5.0MP and VGA dual-facing cameras to easily capture still shots and an Android 2.2 operating system for efficient system processing. The large touch-screen display allows for easy navigation of the features and clear viewing,” Best Buy notes.

The handset offers great features that users would usually find in high-end mobile phones, all at an affordable price tag, and free of contract.

For example, it is powered by a 1GHz application processor, and sports a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of external memory.

Not to mention that it supports HD-Video (720p) recording, as well as video calling courtesy of the front-facing camera.

The specifications list of Motorola Triumph also includes support for Sprint's CDMA network (Virgin Mobile is a subsidiary of this wireless carrier).

It comes with an HDMI out port as well, and with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, complemented by the usual 3.5mm audio jack, and by built-in aGPS.

Support for mobile services like Google Search, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Talk and YouTube was included into the mix too, as well as support for applications available for download via the Android market.
