ROKR E8, Motorola's fancy music-oriented phone, is now available in Canada, offered exclusively by Best Buy in collaboration with Rogers Wireless. Although the new Moto can be ordered from Best Buy Canada's website, it can actually be bought only in-store.

Best Buy is offering the E8 for 149.99 Canadian dollars with a Rogers contract agreement for three years, or for 334.99 CAD without a contract but with a Rogers SIM card included.

Already available across Europe and Asia, the ROKR E8 is a unique handset. It features a flat, morphing keypad with haptic feedback that relies on the ModeShift technology, allowing users to easily transform it, according to their needs, into a music controller, camera controller or a simple alphanumeric keypad. Moreover, the FastScroll navigation wheel offers a quick and easy way to make use of the handset's multimedia capabilities.

And speaking of capabilities, these include: Video player, Music player with support for lots of formats (MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, MIDI, WAV, AMR-NB and Real Audio v.10), a 3.5mm headset jack, stereo FM radio, airplane mode for continuous music playback (even without a SIM card) and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP. Furthermore, with its 2GB of built-in memory, the ROKR E8 makes sure you have enough space for your MP3s. Or, if it?s still not enough for you, memory cards of up to 4GB are supported.

The other features of Moto E8 are: a 2 inch TFT display with 240 x 320 pixels and 256K colors, email, HTM browser, a 2 Megapixel camera with video, quad-band GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE, organizer and so on. The E8 only measures 115 x 53 x 10.6 millimeters, weighs 100 grams and packs a battery that should be able to provide up to 7.5 hours of talk-time and up to 12.5 days of stand-by time.

Besides being a nice phone in itself, the E8 is also a nice addition to Rogers' line-up of Motorola handsets, which currently includes only clamshells and the Q9h smartphone. In conclusion, if you're in Canada and the Best Buy prices of the ROKR E8 don't seem too high, the handset is surely worth your attention, especially if music phones are the ones that attract you the most.
