The next generation Motorola ROKR E2 mobile has been officially announced.

The musicphone is the first model from Motorola that supports iRadio. ROKR E2 has a sleek compact candy bar form and large TFT 262k color screen, perfect for capturing and viewing pictures or video capture and playback. The screen incorporates Motorola's SCREEN3 technology for zero click access to news, sports, entertainment and other premium content. Like its predecessor E1, the new ROKR has USB connectivity 2.0 (E1 had USB 1.1 which was much slower). The ROKR E2 takes mobile music to the next level - no wires. Users can keep the phone in their pockets or in the other room while they listen to music - embedded Bluetooth technology allows them to wirelessly stream audio from their ROKR E2 to compatible Bluetooth-enabled stereo headphones for up to 30 feet away. When a call comes in, the music pauses allowing the user to answer the call then to resume listening where he left off.

The phone has up to 2GB of storage courtesy of an SD memory card slot, a 1.3 megapixel digital camera, a proper 3.5mm headphone jack, support for Bluetooth stereo headphones, integrated MP3 player and built-in FM tuner.

The Motorola ROKR E2 is expected to be available in the first half of 2006.
