Intel-based Motorola RAZR i has just been officially introduced in Puerto Rico. The smartphone will be exclusive to major carrier Claro for free on 60 USD (45 EUR) monthly plans.

According to Motorola Mobility, the RAZR i will go on sale during this week with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box.

Although the US-based handset maker has confirmed that a Jelly Bean upgrade will be available for Motorola RAZR i, the company has not unveiled any details regarding the availability of the update.

Motorola RAZR i comes equipped with an Intel Atom Z2460 single-core processor clocked at 2GHz, which is complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

“Offering devices with the latest technology and real differentiators is a priority for Claro. That is why the RAZR i launch with Intel Inside is an important addition to our portfolio of handsets. We are confident it will be another great success for Claro’s and Motorola’s alliance,” said Enrique Ortiz de Montellano, president of Claro Puerto Rico.

The smartphone sports a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

On the back, the RAZR I boasts an impressive 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

Last but not least, the Intel-based smartphone packs 8GB of internal memory (5GB user available), which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

“An instant launch camera that takes 10 pictures in less than a second and Web pages that load blazingly fast on a device with a perfectly-sized screen that fits in the palm of your hand. RAZR i delivers all of this, as well the first Intel-fast processor in Latin America in a beautifully designed phone with extra-long battery life,” said Roberto Agostini, commercial director, Motorola Mobility Puerto Rico.
