Motorola’s Android flagship smartphone has just been announced in Costa Rica. Motorola RAZR will be available through one of the main carriers in the country starting with the first week of May.

Although the handset maker did not reveal any details regarding the phone’s pricing options, customers should expect this to be subsidized by the undisclosed carrier.

It goes without saying the smartphone will be shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform on board, though customers who already bought the smartphone are still waiting for the promised Ice Cream Sandwich update.

This is one of the slimmest smartphones available on the market. Impossibly thin at 7.1mm, Motorola RAZR has an attractive design, which makes it stand out from the crowd.

Made from premium materials, the RAZ features diamond-cut aluminum accents, KEVLAR fiber that covers the back side, and scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass for the screen. In addition, the smartphone comes with splash-guard coating.

Hardware-wise, Motorola RAZR is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor, which is complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 GPU and 1GB of RAM.

There’s also 16GB of internal memory inside, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. On the back, the device boasts an enhanced 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.

Last but not least, Motorola RAZR sports a brilliant 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED Advanced display screen that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

We have a strong presence in the country, and we are focused on developing and leading the convergence of mobile devices to make everyday life easier through the use of cell phones, tablets and other devices. We have a great challenge ahead of us and we want to successfully accomplish it,” said Alfonso Cleaves Gutierrez, commercial director, Motorola Mobility Central America.
