18k gold finish

It looks like Motorola has broken its promise of giving up their RAZR gigantic success and move on to developing new phone models instead of adapting this old one. The company will release a special "Luxury Edition" of the RAZR 2 handset these holidays, a highly fashionable and also expensive one.

The only new thing about this special edition will be its color pattern, as it will be perfectly identical to the classic version. Motorola is trying to attract some more people into buying their product without having to do much for it. They are counting on making a luxury statement with the release of this phone, although its capabilities are nothing out of the ordinary.

Luxury phones don't necessarily have to bring the most evolved performances, but just use some valuable metals in the design process. Sounds pretty easy to do, so the limited edition Motorola RAZR 2 handset sounds like the shortest way to boosting up some sales that this producer could have chosen now that simply changing the phone's color has for long stopped being enough.

The "Luxury Edition" name comes from the 18k gold plating that accents the phone's shapes against ebony vacuum metal finish. Sounds elegant enough up to this point, but here goes the rest of the phone's special casing that looks rather kitschy. The phone will have a soft-touch back, embossed with a snakeskin effect. Moreover, the outer screen is made of chemically-hardened glass and on the navigation wheel an engraved diamond pattern shines.

Motorola might have overdone it with these additional design features, but we won't know for sure until the phone is officially released. The RAZR 2 "Luxury Edition" will also come equipped with accessories such as wired headphones for music enjoyment, a matching carrying case and polishing bag, for a fully stylish effect. The phone will be available starting this year's holidays.
