Motorola Moto G Launching in India on February 5

The smartphone has already been listed at various Indian retailers

The hottest Motorola smartphone available on the market, the Moto G is about to make its debut in India. The handset was initially confirmed for a January release with Android 4.4 KitKat onboard, but due to unknown reasons, it got delayed for early February.

Motorola announced last week that it would offer more details on the release of the Moto G on February 5 and now the company’s VP for product management has confirmed on Google+ that he’s on a flight to India to launch the Moto G.

Another indication that Motorola will launch the Moto G next week is the fact that at least one Indian retailer (Flipkart) has already listed the smartphone on its online stores.

However, Flipkart has not announced the handset’s price, so we’re still wondering whether or not Motorola will put it only sale for under $200 (€145) off contract.

As expected, Motorola will launch the dual-SIM version of the Moto G in India, but it will probably not ship with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system onboard. Still, those who purchase the smartphone will be able to upgrade their Moto G in the coming weeks.

Hardware-wise, the Moto G is more than decent for the price you have to pay. It comes equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, Adreno 305 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

However, the smartphone only packs 8GB of internal memory and lacks microSD card slot for memory expansion. Nevertheless, users will receive 50GB of free cloud storage via Google Drive for two years.

Furthermore, Motorola Moto G sports a 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

The smartphone also features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording, as well as a secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

The Moto G is powered by a non-removable 2070 mAh battery and offers a wide range of connectivity options including HSDPA (21Mbps), Wi-Fi , Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with A-GPS support.
